Transition Year
The Transition Year (TY) programme is an optional but a highly recommended one-year experience designed to help students develop life skills, explore new interests, and grow personally. It includes activities such as work experience, community projects, and creative modules that encourage independence and practical learning. TY also introduces students to topics like entrepreneurship and environmental awareness, broadening their perspective. By the end of the year, students are more prepared for senior cycle and future challenges.

Every Friday, our Transition Year students have the fortunate opportunity to visit Cavan Institute. These visits allow students to explore a wide range of Post-Leaving Certificate (PLC) courses in a practical, hands-on way. By experiencing the courses firsthand, students gain valuable insights into potential paths for further education and career development, helping them make informed decisions about their futures.
